Every category in the recorded index

The catalogue in four numbers

What the index recorded, and how evenly it is spread. The spread is what decides whether a category needs filtering or reading.

11,414Listings recorded

the set the catalogue itself publishes
2,176Largest category
T-Shirts, roughly a fifth of the whole index
120Smallest category
Other-stuff, where scanning beats searching
The gap between the largest and the smallest is a factor of about 18. That is why one browsing method cannot serve both ends of the list.

Other ways to move through the catalogue

The category grid answers "what object". These answer the other three questions a visitor usually has.

Brands cut across categories; popular cuts across both and reflects what the catalogue promotes. If you already know the object, stay in the grid above.

Every category side by side

The whole index in one table, including the two columns that decide whether a brand filter is worth using in each category.

"With a brand" is the share of listings in that category that carry a brand value at all. Where it is low, a brand filter narrows the set without completing it — which is worth knowing before concluding that something is absent.

Category index questions

Four answers about how these indexes are built.

Where do the counts come from?
From the catalogue's own public API, read at build time and stored with the reading date. They are not estimates and they are not typed in by hand. Counts and prices on this page come from one reading of the Oopbuy spreadsheet index on 23 Oct 2026 (11,414 rows indexed then). The index moves; a number here is a record, not a live reading.
Why are there exactly eight categories?
Because that is the set the catalogue publishes and files its listings under. Inventing finer buckets would mean re-sorting rows by guesswork, which would make these counts less true rather than more useful.
Is the dearest item in a category the best one?
No, and the pages deliberately do not imply it. Sorting dearest first is a way to see the top of a range; it is not a recommendation, and the category pages say so where the sort is applied.
Do these pages link to the catalogue?
Each category page links out with a referral parameter so the destination knows the visit came from here. The disclosure describes that arrangement in full, including what it does not buy.

Pick a category, then let the rows decide

Eight indexes hold 11,414 recorded listings, each with its source platform attached so a shortlist can be checked later rather than taken on faith.
