Oopbuy review: what we can verify, and what we cannot

How verifiable each dimension is before you pay

Five dimensions of an agent decision, scored on one question only: how many independent ways exist to check it before money moves. A high score means the evidence is plentiful, not that the answer is good.

Fee structure 5 / 5
Published on the agent's own pricing pages, then restated on your order summary. Two independent sources, both readable before payment.
QC photo process 4 / 5
Described consistently across the agent's help pages and third-party guides, and observable once an order reaches the warehouse. The gap is that no public source shows a specific photo set.
Shipping routes and cost 4 / 5
Route tables are public; the number that applies to your parcel depends on weight and destination, so it is checkable only once you have those two inputs.
Support responsiveness 2 / 5
No public, dated, reproducible test exists. Everything available is anecdote, including the anecdotes we would otherwise be tempted to repeat.
Refund and after-sales outcomes 2 / 5
Policies are published; outcomes are not. Without case-level records there is nothing to score beyond the wording of the policy itself.

Every figure on these pages is a statement about documentation, not about service. "Confidence 4 of 5" means four independent ways exist to check that dimension before you pay — it does not mean the agent performs well. We have deliberately kept the two apart, because a review site that has never placed an order cannot honestly score the second.

The three dimensions people actually argue about

Each card takes one contested claim and states where the evidence stops. The verdict field is about the evidence, not the company.

Are the fees lower than other agents?

Comparable, not lower

Agents in this market bill in the same three places — a service share, shipping, and optional extras. Differences show up in how the service share is expressed and in what counts as an extra, not in a headline number. Two agents can quote the same percentage and land differently on a three-kilogram parcel.

Checkable on: the fee structure page and your own order summary.

Do QC photos catch problems?

They document, they do not judge

A QC photo set shows what arrived at the warehouse. It does not authenticate a product, test an electronic item, or tell you whether stitching will hold. Treating the photo as approval is the most common misreading in this market, and it is a misreading of the shopper, not of the agent.

Checkable on: the QC page and the shoe checklist.

Is a spreadsheet route cheaper than browsing?

Same route, better notes

A finds list does not change what the agent charges. It changes how much you know before you commit: source platform, reference price, and what to inspect. The saving is in avoided mistakes, and it is real but it is not a discount.

Review scope
DimensionIn scopeWhy
Published fee mechanicsYesReadable on public pages and restated on the order summary.
Route and weight logicYesDeterministic arithmetic once inputs are known.
Documentation qualityYesA property of published pages, observable without an order.
QC process descriptionPartlyThe steps are public; the output quality is not.
Support speedNoWould require a dated, reproducible test we have not run.
Refund outcomesNoWould require case records that are not public.
Product authenticityNoNot a property any photo set can establish.
Overall star ratingNoWould compress four unknowns into one number.
Four of eight rows are refusals. A review that scores everything it can think of is describing its own ambition rather than the subject.

Method, in four commitments

How these pages are produced, stated plainly enough to be checked.

  1. We separate evidence from inference
See the verification method for the full statement.
  2. We do not publish undated numbers
The update log lists what changed and when.
  3. We do not accept payment for placement

No agent reviews a page before publication, and none has been offered the chance. Links out carry a referral parameter because that is how the site is funded — see the disclosure.

  4. We correct in public

A correction is published on the page it affects, with the date, rather than quietly edited. The contact page carries the response times we hold ourselves to.

Review questions

Six questions readers ask about this kind of page.

Why is there no star rating?
Because a star rating would have to average things we cannot measure. What we publish instead is a confidence figure for each dimension: how many independent ways exist to check it. That number is defensible, and a star rating for a company we have never bought from would not be.
Have you placed an order with Oopbuy?
No. This site indexes a catalogue and documents mechanics. Anything requiring a completed transaction — support speed, refund handling, product quality — is outside what we can state, and it says so on every page that touches the subject.
Then what is the review for?
Deciding before you pay. Fee mechanics, route arithmetic, QC scope and documentation quality are all knowable in advance, and they are where most of the money is decided. The rest is luck, and we would rather not dress luck up as assessment.
How often is this page updated?
When something in the mechanics changes, which is recorded in the update log rather than expressed as a promise. The scans behind the catalogue side of the site run on a regular schedule.
Does the referral parameter change what you write?
It cannot, because we take the same parameter to every destination and none of the destinations is a party to the writing. The disclosure sets out the full arrangement, including what we would have to change if it were ever different.
Where do the numbers in the catalogue come from?
From the index's own published API, read on 23 Oct 2026 and stored with the reading time attached. Prices are listing references and move; the timestamp is the part that does not.

Every claim here can be traced to a page on the index

The dimensions above are checkable because the index publishes what it reads: 11,414 listings with source, category and reference price attached. Start from the agent page and work outward.
